Hi, I'm Ismael Gutiérrez!

I am a Product Designer with 7+ years of experience designing complex, system-driven products that are intuitive, scalable, and built for real-world impact.

My approach combines strategic UX thinking, close collaboration with product and engineering, and a passion for turning workflow-heavy challenges into experiences that are clear and built to last."

My Approach

I thrive across every stage of the product lifecycle, from early discovery and user research to high-fidelity execution and handoff. My expertise spans UX research, interaction design, design systems, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring products are scalable, consistent, and ready to ship.

At Rewst, I redesigned a complex canvas builder tool and built a fully customizable design system from the ground up, driving consistency and scalability across the entire product. At Few Design, I designed a first-of-its-kind "Donate Now, Pay Later" experience that facilitated over $250K in donations and $1M in interest-free donor credit within the first 90 days.

I approach every project with a balance of systems thinking, research-backed decisions, and hands-on execution, making sure every experience delivers real value to users and business alike.

Core Strengths

💪 Core Strengths 💡 Core Strengths

  • I believe great products are built on great foundations. With hands-on experience building and owning design systems based on MUI and Storybook, I create scalable, consistent components that make life easier for designers and engineers alike.

  • I specialize in the hard stuff — workflow-heavy tools, canvas builders, and system-driven products where clarity is everything. I break down complexity into experiences that feel intuitive, no matter how many moving parts are behind the scenes.

  • Design doesn't happen in a vacuum. I partner closely with product, engineering, research, and stakeholders from discovery through delivery, making sure every decision is aligned, intentional, and ready to ship.

  • Good design starts with the right questions. Through user research, validation, and usability testing, I uncover what users actually need and use those insights to drive decisions that balance user goals with business impact.
